Progress Updates (5 total)
Update #1: Build a portfolio of 3D acoustical wall art
This will be the basis for my business pivot into the interior design world. I need a portfolio of art pieces to bring to trade shows / conferences to use as a visual aid for pitching to design studios to break into the professional world of interior design. Hopefully being the first company to bring acoustics to the world of design.
Update #2: Designed, printed, upholstered and photographed my first piece
10% completeThis is the first of several pieces, it's filled with acoustic material and has a honeycombed frame to allow sound to pass through the frame and into the acoustical absorption material.
Update #3: Have begun modeling the next piece in Fusion 360.
10% completeI've started modeling the next product in my portfolio, this was a design I had attempted before but the execution was lackluster. Giving it another go since I've gotten a larger printer and can start to create even bigger pieces.
Update #4: 2 Steps forward, 1 step back
15% completeSpent a lot of time working on various joint mechanisms for the lid and body of the strawberry. I'm finally working on the final piece of the body. Here's a small snippet (6x speed) of what that work looks like. Can't wait for this to hit the printer and be in my hands.
Update #5: Started printing and adding fabric
20% completeHave been testing some different lid fittings, hence the difference between each section. I think I've settled on the inner boarder style over the cylinder style. I've also experimented with removing material from the walls but only on the last section. I'm sure in future designs, I'll incorporate this more.
