Progress Updates (2 total)
Update #1: Reaching CEFR Level C2 competency in French.
I took French in both high school and college; it's time for this Gen-Xer to use that knowledge and master it.
Challenges Overcome: Took four years of French in high school. Took two semesters in undergrad. Currently at level B1 in learning and review.
Update #2: Currently at level B1 in review and study.
50% completeLevel 90 in Duolingo = B1 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: "Independent User".
Challenges Overcome: Level B1:
"Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.
Can deal with most situations likely to arise while travelling in an area where the language is spoken.
Can produce simple connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest.
Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans."
Obstacles Faced: My Duolingo subscription ends this month; I cancelled it due to the owner's behavior towards employees and heavy use of AI now. Searching for a new and cost-effective tool.
