Progress Updates (7 total)
Update #1: Puppy ----> Dog
10 week old male "Lab hound mix"
meet Clyde
Update #2: 11 weeks old
learning that the crate is pretty cool. Still very much a puppy.
Update #3: 12 weeks
25lbs.
Eats, poops, and bites a lot.
Starting to like the crate more.
Update #4: 16 weeks
40.3lbs. Today at the vet. Starting to listen better, sleep throughout the night and can do several tricks for treats (of course).
Update #5: 21 weeks old
Socialization with other animals has been a focal point. Clyde has been introduced to a multitude of new dogs big and small, continually getting better at listening while off leash, and loves playing in the snow.
Update #6: 30 weeks
Clyde continues to improve listening inside and outside, and roughhousing with our other dog is starting to decline (thankfully).
Socializing him with more humans remains a focal point in the coming months.
Update #7: 60 weeks
100% completeWeighing in at just under 80lbs. Clyde is now a full grown adult dog. Most of his bad behaviors have drastically improved, some are still a work in progress however, and likely to be fazed out with age. He still continues to find comfort in his kennel (which he goes to on command), loves rough housing and anything edible.
Obstacles Faced: Jumping up on people as they come in the door, and barking at strangers are two things Clyde still struggles with.
Looking Back: We absolutely would have had him meet more people. Socializing a puppy with a variety of people is very important for how they interact with strangers as they grow up.
