Progress Updates (3 total)

Update #1: Play main Neon guitar riff

Need to get timing, palm slaps, and left hand transitions down (especially the big stretch at the end)

Update #2: Going to try to master the first two bars

Haven’t practiced since last progress. Going to try breaking up the song in sections. Going to try the first two bars then speed it up. Let’s see if that’s a viable technique.

Update #3: Really improved right hand picking

Three major changes lead to big improvements, both having to do with increasing accuracy of right hand picking: 1. Tried to play “as quietly as possible”. Basically, instead of going crazy, went as accurately and deliberately as possible. This put more focus on hitting right notes rather than thumb/palm slapping. 2. Started resting ring and pinky finger on the guitar body. This provides a stable base to focus on picking properly. 3. Have been warming up with the “one two one two” picking pattern that you see in the beginning of this video. Doing that for a few minutes let’s me hear if I’m accurately picking (since the pattern is the same throughout the song). Going slowly and working up to speed has really helped
