Update #1: Run a Marathon and Enjoy the Process

I want to train for and run a marathon, having fun along the way and exploring West LA in the process.
Challenges Overcome: I have ran a few miles at a time and am loving it. I’d like to up the mileage and see more of my neighborhood in the process.

Update #2: Ran the Beach Stairs

I added some elevation to my run and really felt the difference. This will be helpful for inclines during my first marathon.
Challenges Overcome: Finally ran 5 miles and even added some elevation!
Obstacles Faced: Distance can be done in time. No need to rush.
Next Steps: Let’s hit 8 miles!
Looking Back: Maybe take it easy on the stairs.

Update #3: Ran My First 8 Mile Run!

I’ve been taking my time and pacing myself. The results are really showing! Running is starting to feel great. It’s becoming a habit now.
Challenges Overcome: Pacing my run really helped me get through this lengthy 8 mile run.
Obstacles Faced: Training will need to increase to reach each next individual milestone as I start getting into double digit miles.
Next Steps: Keep running this distance and push when my body feels like it still has gas in the tank.
Looking Back: There’s no rush. Taking your time and listening to your body is important.
