Update #1: make a halloween quilt

Second large quilt, 4th ever quilt with a more challenging pattern this time to learn new sewing skills
Obstacles Faced: I think sashing and making my own binding will be challenging
Next Steps: Cut fabric!

Update #2: Cut all fabric, pieced star centers together

15% complete
Cutting fabric went smooth, I tried starching it first for the first time which is kind of a pain but made the biggest difference in cutting crisp lines. Now we’ll see if it makes a difference in matching up my points…
Challenges Overcome: Starching fabric FTW
Obstacles Faced: Still not great at sewing a perfect straight line with a 1/4 inch seam allowance
Next Steps: Onto the flying geese!

Update #3: Cut & pressed open all flying geese

64 flying geese later….
Challenges Overcome: Feel super comfortable with flying geese now; they used to really mystify me!

Update #4: Finished the quilt top!!

75% complete
It’s huuuuge omg. the pattern came with 2 sizes and the small seemed too small but this literally covers my queen bed! but it’s gonna be sooo cozy and i love how it came out!
Next Steps: Off the be long armed!
Looking Back: measure the size of things..
