Update #1: Complete the irene quilt
My brother is currently undergoing chemo treatments, I want to complete the irene quilt and send it to him in the next two weeks.
Challenges Overcome: I've cut up all the fabric for piecing.
Update #2: Sewed all the strips and then cut them
25% completeMaking steady progress with cutting the strips which were numerous!
Update #3: Completed design and bought batting
45% completeNeeded to buy more backing as I miscalculated amount needed.
Update #4: Finished sewing all the parts of the quilt and ready to take to long arm quilter
80% completeWorking on this quilt for the last few days.
Update #5: Quilt is at long arm quilter and should be done in the next 2 weeks.
90% completeUnderestimated time to it takes to have it long arm quilted! Next time start sooner.
Challenges Overcome: First time I used flannel fabric in a quilt. This should be the warmest, heaviest quilt I’ve made.
Obstacles Faced: The shipping costs are going to be crazy!
Update #6: Quilt is done and on it’s way to my brother!
