Update #1: Remodel the bedroom
Working on a full basement remodel this year and ive hit the point where i need to focus room by room, rather than everything all at once, so here im focusing on the new bedroom
Challenges Overcome: I have built the stud walls, laid in the drywall/tile, and started taping/grouting
Obstacles Faced: I want to make this space cozy and comfortable, which can run counter to the circumstances (basement room with one small window doesnt provide a ton of light) and materials (drywall, wooden studs, cement walls, and floor tile, all hard surfaces) and my skill level is still pretty new at most of these skillsets
Looking Back: Sometimes your perspective needs to be broad, and able to shift from one priority to another, and sometimes you need to focus on the task immediately in front of you
Update #2: Finished one wall of the skim coat before work today
15% completeWorking on skim coating the room, the winter makes the joint compound harder to work with but enough water and heat whipped into the bucket makes it doable
Update #3: Mudded another wall of the bedroom
20% completeContinuing the mudding around the room, both left and right sides are started, just the door side wall and ceiling to go
