Progress Updates (5 total)

Update #1: Knit Colorwork Scarf

When I travel I like to bring a project with me so I started this stranded colorwork scarf - I tried this pattern once before but they discontinued the yarn I was using so I’m starting a new one! It starts with a provisional cast on which I’m not practiced at, but it went pretty well. That’s the red line at the bottom of the scarf.

Update #2: Knit 3 of 15 repeats

15% complete
Here’s my progress after 5 days of travel. I finished 3 full iterations of the colorwork motif + 10 rows. I also steamed it a little to even it out.

Update #3: Knit 6/15 motifs

40% complete
I’ve knit 6 out of the 15 colorwork iterations. The most time consuming part is having to check the chart so often to make sure I’m knitting the correct color, but I’ve started to become familiar enough with the pattern to remember some parts of it and knit them a bit faster.

Update #4: Finished 10/15 motifs

65% complete
I was starting to think that 10 motifs might be enough, but once I finished and steam blocked them I think I need at least 2 more to be able to wrap the scarf around a full time. I’ll check the length again once I’ve finished 12
Next Steps: Once these are complete I’ll move on to adding an icord fringe, which I’ve never done before!

Update #5: Finished and added fringe!

90% complete
I finished knitting the scarf and added fringe - the fringe didn’t work out as well as I wanted and it might redo it later, but for now I’ve completed the pattern.
Next Steps: I might remake the fringe and I still need to block it
