Update #1: Remove invasive “burning bush” and invasive vine from the yard

These plants are easy to identify. They are everywhere. The left is the vine, it’s brown and speckled and strangles trees. The right is burning bush, with its nasty razor like branches

Update #2: Vines wrapped on a sapling

35% complete
I’ve removed probably 50 vines so far! It’s pretty satisfying to unwrap them and let the tree “breathe”. You can see how they would be choking the tree as it grows. Luckily, the roots pull out pretty easily. Can’t just chop it and leave the roots, or they’ll come back easily.
Obstacles Faced: Thorn bushes

Update #3: Removed almost all burning bush except the really large roots

75% complete
When the roots get this big, they become really difficult to dig out. But, you gotta get them from the source. There are about 6 very large ones left. I wonder what happens if I just trim them everything about ground? Might prevent spreading of the seeds maybe
Looking Back: Snips would probably work better but the hatchet feels cool to use
