Progress Updates (4 total)

Update #1: Grow a fruit tree from seed

I ate a peach and planted the stone in a pot with dirt then watered it. It took about 30 minutes. It took 2 years before I put it in the ground and will wait until it’s 5 years before it starts bearing fruit.

Update #2: It’s been in the pot for about 2 years

It’s time to plant it

Update #3: I planted the tree in the ground and mulched around it

Now that the tree is in the ground, it should expand its roots in order to get sufficient nutrients to grow and bare fruit.

Update #4: Survived winter

100% complete
Although it made it through winter, I noticed that some of the leaves are showing signs of a fungal infection
Challenges Overcome: Happy to declare it a success. It’s my 3 rd peach tree I’ve grown from a seed and we’ve been enjoying the fruit of one of them for a couple of years now
Obstacles Faced: Currently I’m facing an issue of a fungus infection because of the prolonged damp and raining season
Next Steps: Need to spray it in order to minimize the damage to the leaves in order for the tree to grow
Looking Back: It’s easy to grow anything from cuttings or seeds if afforded proper conditions
