Update #1: Make a 100 Pound Dubai Chocolate
I want to make a huge Dubai chocolate, not a flat one, a tall big one. The recipe I’m using is a combination of the 3 top recipes on google cross referenced in ChatGPT
Challenges Overcome: I’ve shopped for the groceries and ingredients to make it
Obstacles Faced: I think that holding the chocolate will be tough without cracking
Looking Back: I’ve learned Dubai chocolate ingredients are pricey
Update #2: Made the filling
35% completeWe just made about 25 pounds of filling. Was super surprised how slow the pistacho was spreading! We ended up just scooping it out with a spatula which worked fine, took about 5 minutes to get everything
Challenges Overcome: Made the filling! It looks good so far
Obstacles Faced: Stirring the super slow spread. But, maybe it's normal for it to pour slow and you're supposed to just scoop it
Looking Back: Pistachio spread is slow, use a better container to prepare for scooping it instead of pouring. Like something shallower or a smaller batch at a time
Update #3: Mid-cleaning
50% completeI always try to clean halfway though things to make the after work less, I say “always try” because I can never fully get it spotless
Challenges Overcome: Cleaning this pot has always been super tough. Although it barely fit into the sink I finished.
Obstacles Faced: The messy floors, stove, and equipment were really tough to get out. I used a sponge for it all
Looking Back: I learned that pistachio filling doesn’t really come off and takes a lot of scrubbing. Also that the filling was still falling out making a mess even though the pot was 2 feet
Update #4: Put the chocolate in the fridge
80% completeWe melted down a bunch of bowls of chocolate together to make this 50 pound bar
Challenges Overcome: We actually ended up getting this into the fridge safely
Obstacles Faced: The hardest part was making sure it didn’t drip at all. We balanced it to keep it flat
Looking Back: I learned that more people helping and communicating with each other was the real trick.
Update #5: Finished the chocolate
100% completeI finally finished the chocolate. We all ate it
Challenges Overcome: Unwrapping the bar felt really satisfying as it took forever.
Obstacles Faced: The biggest challenge was slicing it open good as we had to melt the knife. Once we did we wiped off the melted chocolate.
Looking Back: I learned that the more the merrier. Having people being able to enjoy what I made is really the best thing.
