Update #1: Learn how to do a gainer
I like jumping into water. I like doing flips. I've always been scared to do a gainer. I need to finally try.
Challenges Overcome: I made sure that where I was jumping I would not get hurt -- also I have friends motivating me that I can do it and giving me advice.
Update #2: Finally started a flipping motion
10% completeI don't have a great in between video, but if you notice in the first video I was leaning forward when initiating my jump instead of backwards, (the whole scared of hitting my head thing comes into play here). I was reassured I was jumping far enough and just needed the confidence to get over the mental aspect.
Challenges Overcome: Leaned back when first jumping. Started a flipping motion
Obstacles Faced: The mental is the hardest part.
Update #3: I did it! Gainer accomplished
100% completeAs I expected, once the mental hurdle was overcome, the rest would be easy. From the first video to this ~30 minutes had passed, so not too much time in the grand scheme of things.
I learned to tuck and control my legs properly by noticing my non-dominate leg allows for better control and power during the tuck with my right leg. In other words, I jumped with my left and tucked with my right.
Obstacles Faced: the mental game
Looking Back: friends are great motivators and advice givers. Also, CPH is an awesome city and this was the best way to spend the last day of summer :).
