Progress Updates (6 total)

Update #1: Climb a V7

I’ve been getting back into rock climbing recently, so I thought it would be fun to track my progress. My goal is to climb a V7 boulder problem. Highest I’ve ever climbed is a V6, and that was a couple years ago…
Challenges Overcome: Just got a CRG membership! I’ve been to the gym a couple times now. Currently, I can consistently climb V3s.

Update #2: Flashed two V4s

15% complete
Went climbing yesterday and completed two V4s on my first try 👍 don’t think I can post two pictures, so this pic shows the purple one I did.

Update #3: Individually climbed all sections of a V5

25% complete
After a couple of visits, I managed to climb both halves of this purple V5 separately. Currently too tired to finish it in one go, but maybe next time…
Next Steps: Get better at toe hooks/heel hooks. I managed to finish the second half by using a heel hook on that right hand hold below the rectangular holds.

Update #4: Projecting another V5

30% complete
I’m close to getting this green V5, but I run out of energy. I’ve climbed to the hold on the volume from the start, but I’ve only done the last section separately.
Next Steps: Working out outside of climbing should help improve my endurance

Update #5: Finally climbed a V5!

45% complete
Got the V5 I’ve been working on. I tried it a bit earlier in the session and it felt surprisingly easier than last time

Update #6: Flashed a V5

60% complete
I’ve been climbing once or twice a week with slow progress, but I just flashed a V5 climb for the first time! It was the green problem—it definitely felt a bit on the easier side but I’ll take it
Next Steps: I still think weightlifting outside of climbing would help my progress
