Update #1: Make a 2-Foot Pancake Tower
I plan to make a giant pancake tower just like the nacho one. As it was a success, I want to make sure everyone gets fed with a fall theme.
Challenges Overcome: I got all of the ingredients such as cream cheese frosting, caramel, and a lot more. Organizing it was pretty simple as well.
Obstacles Faced: I think it will be tough to make the pancakes all hold on the stick.
Looking Back: I learned that if you shop at Walmart for sweets, things aren’t as expensive as you would think they are.
Update #2: Made the filling
35% completeI sautéd all of the apples which took a very long time to do. Sautéing them with sugar and cinnamon roll filling will make it taste great.
Challenges Overcome: I finished cutting all of the apples and turned it into a delicious fall tasting compote.
Obstacles Faced: Peeling the apples which was really straining on my wrists after a while.
Looking Back: I learned that I should’ve gotten some type of automatic apple cutter to make it quicker.
Update #3: Made a bunch of pancakes
70% completeMe and my friend Sophia ended up making pancakes non-stop for over an hour to use all of the mix that we made.
Challenges Overcome: We made at least 100 pancakes which were all different sizes to be stackable.
Obstacles Faced: I wasn’t the best at making the pancakes since I had a lot of stuff to worry about and missed flipping while filming so I stacked whole Sophia cooked.
Looking Back: I learned that sometimes it’s good to sit back as I let Sophia take the spatula.
Update #4: Made the bottom structure look good
80% completeWith Fall, I wanted to go with a cinnamon roll theme so my friends and I ended up making this while I was sizing the pancakes.
Challenges Overcome: I made a cinnamon roll pattern that was really satisfying.
Obstacles Faced: It was tough to get it to fit evenly so we had to smush it a little bit to get it to work.
Looking Back: I learned that the best pattern was stripes as I was gonna do checkers but it didn’t look right.
Update #5: Finished the tower!
100% completeThis was an insane turnout as I really didn’t expect it to have it look as it does.
Challenges Overcome: I loved how symmetrical it all was.
Obstacles Faced: The biggest challenge was making the appearance look good while making it huge.
Looking Back: I learned that it takes a long time to cut a bunch of apples down.
