Progress Updates (10 total)

Update #1: Try A New Instant Pot Recipe Every Weekend

Why: to eat healthier, more consistent, and save money How: by cooking a new recipe every weekend, and rate it out of 10 Completion: find 3 recipes that I enjoy, so I can keep cooking them

Update #2: Week 2: Braised Chicken

Less water, 15 minutes for chicken. Meat is still not very seasoned, I think I’m going to marinate everything overnight and dump them into the pot next week. Forgot to take a pic in the pot

Update #3: Week 4: braised chicken thighs

Moved chicken from instant pot into a regular pot. I think I like the texture on the stove top better. Too salty this week- too much soy sauce. Forgot to take a picture when it was done again

Update #4: Chicken, beef, and tofu curry

Eat 3 proteins at once but only have to cook 1 dish. Sweet potatoe was nice

Update #5: Japanese curry cubes

Used them

Update #6: 红烧排骨

Used new ingredients: baby back ribs

Update #7: Harissa chicken and couscous

Used frozen chicken, yogurt, half a jar of harissa, an onion, and couscous. So much food for less than 15 dollars to make. Chicken had no taste…. Need to use less water when cooking meat

Update #8: Discovered TJ’s Tomatoe Pasta Sauce

Added pantry pasta sauce to this weekly’s originally barely edible chicken and couscous. I’ll use this sauce to cook chicken next week instead

Update #9: Skillet Curry Chicken

Cubed chicken thighs with skin on, red onion, and curry cubes. Actually very delicious

Update #10: Last progress: Feeling like I can use an instant pot okay

Able to cook chicken, beef or soup on pressure cooker
