Update #1: Jump on the Trampoline

I need to do an aerobic exercise 2-3 times a week
Challenges Overcome: I’ve been jumping off and on since I bought it in the summer but it’s been too hot and humid for me. Lately, I managed up to 29 minutes of combined regular jumps, running and jumping jacks
Obstacles Faced: I am my biggest hurdle, so my hope is not to come up with excuses to not exercise. I’m also unsure about being able to use the trampoline when the snow comes
Next Steps: I’m going to set up reminders on my phone and try to get at least 15 minutes each time
Looking Back: Jumping is so much fun!. Not only is it more efficient and arduous than running for the same distance and time according to a NASA study, it’s also easier on the joints and good for healthy bones. And it’s so much fun 😹😂🤣

Update #2: So far so good with jumping at least 3 times a week

20% complete
It’s only been a short while but I managed to jump between 20-30 minutes each time
Challenges Overcome: On good days, I do jumping jacks and attempt straddle and tuck jumps or other movements I can think of
Obstacles Faced: I don’t always feel up for a workout but once I’m on it I try to do simple jumps and keep going
Next Steps: I will make an effort to use it until October or November before deciding to go on the treadmill in the basement!
Looking Back: I simply wish that I got the trampoline years ago. Being outdoors in great weather without driving anywhere

Update #3: Couldn’t resist the tug of the full moon

30% complete
It’s my first time going on the trampoline at night

Update #4: Jump on a cool and cloudy day

50% complete
In addition to the jumping I did, I couldn’t help but notice the difference in the colour of the fallen leaves this year as opposed to the vibrant one I posted on another goal of mine almost exactly a year ago at the same spot under the maple tree
Challenges Overcome: Cloudy days sap my energy but I made the effort and did about 31 minutes
Obstacles Faced: The one constant challenge is to get out the door
Next Steps: Keep at it until my nose starts to freeze which isn’t necessary a sub zero temperature according to my Mediterranean blood
Looking Back: What I’m discovering about myself is that regardless of how tired I feel, I seem to have plenty of energy left

Update #5: Jumping on a crisp autumn morning

60% complete
I brought my kittens along to keep me cheer me on
Challenges Overcome: My first morning jump
Obstacles Faced: The morning dew turned my feet cold and numb
Next Steps: Keep going until I no longer can
Looking Back: I need some waterproof socks or trampoline friendly shoes

Update #6: Another glorious autumn day with just enough wind to keep me cool

70% complete
I added toe exercises in the hope of wearing my stilettos again soon 👠
Challenges Overcome: My greatest achievement is the fact that I’m sticking to my routine
Looking Back: I keep realising how invigorating fresh air is

Update #7: Came back home after the storm and found the trampoline blown away and severely damaged

100% complete
Everything changed! It’s all tangled up between trees and branches
Challenges Overcome: It’s a sad way to end a goal but I’m glad I kept it up for as long as was possible
Obstacles Faced: The biggest challenge was the time it took to put it together only to have to repeat the same process again so shortly after
Next Steps: Once the missing pins are replaced, frames unbent … we need to anchor it in place in order to avoid a repeat of the same
Looking Back: Keep the kid in you alive is going to become my mantra
